Small balls and brick walls.
TWOD (2D) CONTROLS MIXED INTO A THREED (3D) GAME? You crazy, Brett.
Added me some jump animations and smoothed out the running ones.
Got that guy animated! Kind of. Gonna work on smoothing it out tonight.
Another video pretty quickly, I think it’s worth it though. I got the camera angle near where it will be in the final product. Also, I did voice narration in this video, so make sure you’ve got sound. I go into some pretty neat things I’m working on.
The camera now follows Grey. So that’s fun. Also, when on a ledge to steep, he will “slide” down (in reality, it seems like he bounces). The camera will be higher up and at a greater angle eventually, but I wanted to be up close to get a better look (I apologize for the low resolution, I was playing in a small window).
It’s also fun to note that I did this demo using an Xbox 360 controller instead of a keyboard.
Grey’s run cycle. I think I got it pretty smooth and simplistic. This is the main character, Grey, running.
Bit easier to see the poly work and how his shadows will change as he turns and moves around when looking at a basic photo from Blender. Dude’s going to stay all grey (kind of), it’s sort of an important piece of the game. See last post for context.
